How to garden at Madison Square Garden

Gardeners at Madison Garden Garden have a lot to be thankful for, with a record of 10 consecutive years of consecutive years with the number of gardens at the indoor facility hitting a new high.

In its second year, the number hit the 20,000 mark for the first time in its 106-year history, a record set by the same indoor facility for which it has been the anchor tenant.

The garden’s outdoor space was a record 7,939 square feet in 2016, up by over 2,000 square feet from 2015, when it was at 5,817 square feet.

The total number of outdoor garden space at the Garden rose by 1,095 square feet to 7,500 square feet, and the number outside rose by 3,000 to 11,500.

The indoor facility has an outdoor garden capacity of 2,800 square feet and is expected to have over 8,000 acres of outdoor space by 2021, said a Garden spokesperson.

The number of visitors to the indoor Garden has more than doubled since its opening in 1999, from 2.5 million visitors in 2016 to 6.3 million visitors this year, said the spokesperson.
